After the most recent full trailer explained pretty much everything we needed to know about 300: Rise of an Empire, a new featurette for the follow-up to Zack Snyder's graphic novel adaptation lays it out even better.

The Man of Steel director, who produced this new film that partially takes place during the evens of 300, appears along with the film's director Noam Murro to talk about the story and how it ties into everything we already know. There's also talk of Sullivan Stapleton as Themistocles, Eva Green as Artemisia and Rodrigo Santoro as Xerxes and their characters in this part of the story. Watch it below!

Noam Murro (Smart People) directs 300: Rise of an Empire (formerly The Battle of Artemisia), based on Frank Miller's upcoming prequel graphic novel Xerxes, and adapted by Zack Snyder (director of 300) and Kurt Johnstad (writer of 300 and Act of Valor). Greek general Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy. Warner Bros & Legendary Pictures are releasing 300: Rise of an Empire everywhere in 3D on March 7th.

Sparta!” Alas those words were nowhere to be heard during the thirteen minute preview that Warner Bros. and #Klout held at their “Fan Event” last night for the forthcoming “300: Rise of an Empire.” In fact, we think the movie is going to end up starring not Spartans but Athenians — those “boy lovers” so mocked by King Leonidas in the 2007 original. While the sneak peek proved that nothing is ever going to be quite as miraculous as Zack Snyder's crypto-fascist green-screen masterpiece, this is definitely cut from the same gauzy, sheer, nipple-propped cloth. Here are ten takeaways from the evening. 1. So, What Is This? The movie begins with a clay relief dissolving into the last shot of the dead warriors from “300.” (Only this time in 3D.) Then the creepy androgynous Xerxes, gets all up in our grill with a humongous axe.
